The Lost Orchards

About two thirds of Britain’s small, traditional orchards have been lost since 1960. In 2007 the authors began a quest to find and identify old varieties of cider apple around Dorset. This is an account of that journey which lasted more than a decade and at the same time a history of the West Country orchards and cider-makers.
